We have just received the first 3 releases in the new Black Hawk Templar series. The painting quality on these new figures is excellent. Crisp, clean and highly realistic. The metal used for casting the figures has really improved - very rigid and heavy, so we shouldn't see any bending of sword blades. Set #501 'The Battle' features incredible animation. The sculptor (probably one of the Andrea kit guys) has designed a complicated vignette with tons of action. Figure #502 is a 'straight up and down' pose of Hugh de Payns, 1128. Figure #506 'The Guardian' is standing, holding his sword and painted in the classic Templar fashion. I am very impressed with these new sets and Black Hawk has addressed some of their earlier difficulties. The sculpting is on par with the finest figure kits available and I'm looking forward to the rest of this series! Each of these new pieces will form the start of a new scene.

They do indeed look quite nice. To me it is a pity they chose to do their "battle" figures in a static pose on one base. That really limits your display options. Perhaps they will offer singles at some point.

Wonder if these would fit in with K&C? THey are supposed to be a 54mm also?

The Black Hawk Templars are about the same height as K&C but the K&C figures are quite a bit 'heavier' and bulky looking - they must have better provisions!

Recieved the first BH templars (BH502, BH506(2) & BH508) today! :)

I am not familiar with the other BH productions, but these templars are great.

The sculpting and details are realy smashing! And they work out fine with the K&C line.

More of them, please! :D

If you ever have the time, would you please post a quick pic of a BH Templar and K&C Knight side by side? Would love to see how they match up! Thanks
