Well these are my first ever, First Legion purchases. I saw then at the recent Birmingham Toy Show and thought they were impressive and so got 2 Templars.

The sculpting is great, colours superb and attention to detail is really quite amazing - from the shield dents to mud splattered, torn cloaks. Hopefully the various angle shots demonstrate this (though the lighting could be better:)).

They are now my favourite pieces and with the London show looming there will be more reinforcements - GOD WILLING !!!

Cheers

Thanks for posting the pictures. They look great. The chain mail is very detailed. I'm glad to hear you like them so much, because I also recently ordered my first First Legion Crusades figure. I ordered the Teutonic Knight, marching with the tall banner. I'm still waiting for it to be released. I decided when I ordered that figure that if I like it as much as I think I will, I'll order the same Templar with the spear that you have. I'm anxious to see what brand new Crusades figures F.L. will release later this month. I'm hoping for some mounted figures and possibly some Saracens.

I've also recently collected my first two Black Hawk Templars, Hugh of Paynes and the mounted Gerard of Ridefort. They're also very nice, with impressive detail. Black Hawk is another Crusades era option. It's nice to have so many Crusades era options to pick from.

The painting quality of your two FL figures appears to be a bit better than the quality of the painting on my two Black Hawk figures.

Great to see that you really like your new Templars my friend :) I'm not sure if you are also interested in the Hospitallers or not, but of the first 6 Crusaders I have the Hospitaller standard bearer (my favorite so far) is just out if this world and the Hospitaller man at arms is just awesome . The templar knight with sword and cloak is also kick *** :D I'm really looking forward to the Hospitaller grand masters up coming release and of course the long awaited arrival of the Teutonic Knights :D I'm also looking for someone worthy to fight ;) All the best Gebhard

As they said in 'Kingdom of Heaven'...."GOD WILLS IT"--you must buy more.

Great pics !

I saw these in Chicago, and they are superb! A "must have" for any medieval enthusiast. FL has come thru again with a unique and very high quality product. They're on my buy list!

I agree. So far, the Teutonic Knights are as for as collectibles go, totally underrepresented.

I am going to stick with the Templars at the moment - I just like the classic Christian red cross shields.

The Hospitallers are nice but do not quite do it for me for historical reasons, not the design. I also like the man at arms, especially as the pose is different to the Templar one - he is holding the spear in a different manner. It is subtle things like that which I appreciate because it shows that extra attention to detail and not just using the same poses.

The Teutonic Knights - I have always thought their helmets were the best - so will want to see them in person

Cheers
