In 1963, we were required to read _Ivanhoe_ by Sir Walter Scott, since then I have always loved the story.
Although I was able to pick up some of the Timpo metal Ivanhoe figures, and some Starlux ones, I have, for years, looked for the newer figures I could use for the scene at the Templar’s Preceptory of Templestowe, where Ivanhoe fights the Templar, Brian de Bois-Guilbert to prevent Rebecca of York from being burned as witch.
In attendance, was the Templar Grand Master, and the Holy Clerk of Copmanhurst (Friar Tuck).
A number of years ago, at OTSN, I was able to pick up the White Tower Miniatures figure of Rebecca, and later the Conte Templar to represent Brian de Bois-Guilbert, and I thought the King & Country MK057 made a nice opponent as Ivanhoe, however I wanted it painted like the colours he wore in the 1982 movie.
This past December I persuaded Will Leary to paint the figure for me.
This eclectic scene is the result.
