England playing The Netherlands at Lords right now, and running England close - surely not a Dutch victory at the home of cricket! !!!

Aussies, Kiwis and Boks need not reply!

Martin,

They don't understand the etiquette issues of the game anyway. Like letting England win, for instance. Just not cricket.....

4 wickets worth of ooops!:(

What's the England National Tiddly Wink team like?

Simon

Mate I wouldn't risk it in case we came up against Cape Verde in the qualifiers - enough is enough!

Lets be positive we'll bash the aussies in the ashes and the Lions will emulate their success last time they played the Boks, and anyway Tenty 20 isn't real cricket is it....

Spoken like a true Englishman! :D

Being Canadian I don't know anything about cricket, but the uniforms look great.
In 1976 , as a student, I was on my first trip to Europe. At one point, I was hitchhiking north from London towards Newcastle. A smart looking businessman in a nice car, stopped and gave me a lift. "I'll give you a lift for about seventy-five miles." he said, "But you can't talk. I've stepped out of the office to listen a test match. I'm just driving 75 miles out and 75 miles back." So I listened to my first cricket match. I had no clue what was going on.

I just watched that match as a replay this morning. Also the one Kiwis vs Scotland. That was also a close shave. I enjoyed both matches. Personally I like to see the non-cricket nations taking it to the dominant teams. I am looking forward to the rest of the tourney.

Order is restored. Pakistan looked totally out of it from the off.

It is pretty tense at the moment.
Australia vs Siri Lanka

Early doors for the Aussies!!!

...........The local Parish Church bells are ringing....surely a coincidence, Tuesday's must be practice night!!! :D

Honest they are; either that, the village is on fire or we are at war

The Aussies should have plenty of time to practice for the ashes - although thats not really a good thing.

Good win for Ireland today, now all we need is the Dutch to beat Pakistan tomorrow or at least lose narrowly, should be a cracking game.

Re: Twenty 20 Cricket World Cup

Would Andrew Symonds have made a difference? A real shame about him lately.

Now thats an interesting conundrum! I personally think he's a real class act but this isn't the first time he's upset the establishment. They obviously feel they can do without him and he's a disruptive influence.

Sporting occasions of this magnitude deserve to have the best players on the planet able to play. Sport has a lengthy list of marvrllous talent that like to press the self-destruct button; Best, Nastasie, Maradonna, to name just a few.
