Just received a copy of this Frank Luke bio, written by Blaine Pardoe. Looking forward to reading this as so little has been done about Luke until this book and one called "The Stand" were published. Luke was the first winner of the CMH in the Army Air Service. Luke actually was the leading US ace for a few days in September 1918, before being KIA. His is a story that has needed to be told considering that most people are only able to ID Rickenbacker's name as a WW1 ace for the US. -- Al

Sounds interesting. I've been wanting to pick up some books on WW1 Pilots.

Got this read and was impressed with it. A lot of good research and no sensationalism. Brought to light a lot of unknown (to me) aspects of the Luke story and cut through the myth and legend to get to the truth about his time at the front and his death. Well worth the read. -- Al
