The first time I commissioned Marion Ball to paint a figure for me for the competition for the MFCA was in 2014. I picked a figure from the Compagnies Franches de la Marine which won a gold medal that year.
Soon thereafter, I commissioned a Teutonic Knight at the beginning of the Eastern crusade. Marion picked a kit from Fidelis as the bases for the figure. But this time, Allan decided to modify the figure and also to add fur on the shoulders.
We further decided to add „souvenirs“ to the figure. The figure was to represent a knight joining the crusaders in the Eastern European territories after the battles in Outremar. Returning from the Middle East, the crusader brought the dagger and the cross with him.
Further, and more importantly, the headscarf that may eleviate the pressure of any helmet. The headscarf is based on the one my girlfriend Kirsten wore.
It won a gold medal at the MFCA this weekend.
