I would like to thank everyone who has made purchases and repeat purchases from me! Because of this I was able to make total donations last month in the amount of $ 875.00 to three (3) of my favorite charities. As follows:
1). The SGTMAC Foundation. This Foundation was started by the parents of United States Marine Corps Sergeant Eric McColley who was born and raised here in Gettysburg, PA. Eric was killed on February 19, 2006 in a CH-53 helicopter accident off the Horn of Africa while conducting counter terrorism exercises. In his name, every year for the last 4 years we have placed several thousand Christmas Wreaths at Quantico National Cemetery (where Eric is interred) and also at the Gettysburg National Cemetery also known as Soldiers National Cemetery. This year I committed to doing every headstone in the old section of this Cemetery. This will bring the total Wreaths placed this year to over 4,000.
2). The Marine Corps Historical Foundation which is still in the process of expanding and operating the new Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, VA. I have been a supported since the very early days of it's inception and highly recommend it to anyone interested in military history and especially that of our UNITED STATES MARINES.
3) Last but not least - The WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT which needs no further explanation. I have been a support of the WOunded Warrior Project as well as several other similar Foundations for many years.
I would also like to thank Shannon and Pete for the generous use of their website to sell items so that I can continue to support the above causes.
And to my few detractors - the following. A very poorly educated but exceedingly wise man told me many years ago - "It is better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". This would apply to anyone who feels the necessity to make derogatory comments about me and my activities when they have no knowledge at all at to what I am about. Maybe if they directed their excess time and unwarranted harsh feelings towards me into something more positive -they would feel better about them selves and no longer need to be so negative. There are lots of good organizations that could use the excess time and energy and put it to something constructive and positive.
Thanks and again - I appreciate the support of everyone!
Best regards
