That other forum (1 Viewer)

If you mean Toy Soldier Chat, I think they had some virus problems but I also think Eric didn't want to continue with it.

It's too bad about that forum. I joined toward the end of its run but enjoyed my time there.

Some people are just kind of poopy abouy creating viruses. I suppose they think it is funny:mad:

Many people think a forum simply runs itself...there is a lot of behind the scenes work to keep the software up to date and to delete spammers as soon as possible to keep them away.

Having a forum is like having a baby. It sure is a lot of work, and you have to be committed to it long-term, but the rewards are tremendous!

Pete,

I can only try and imagine the difficulties that you, Shannon, Brad and Dave have looking after your 575 babies. I for one really do appreciate all the hard work that you do to keep this forum ticking over nicely.

Thanks Dad :).

I agree with that, I've seen many forums have problems with total shutdowns due to virusses and the like.
Aside from that, of all the toy soldier forums there are, this is by far the best and most active with a lot of reader input and plenty activity. The manufacturers give a lot of updates as well (not on WB's Zulu War (see sig) but you can't have everything:rolleyes:).

I hope this forum is here to stay and more members will join to participate.

I had just joined, I was waiting to be accepted, never heard from them about being activated. This forum is head and shoulders above the others, Pete and Shannon and their crew do a superb job keeping it running. I do also enjoy Hobby Bunker's forum, it tends to be a quiet plastic collector place. But the updates and knowledge on this forum, is by far tops. Thank you again Pete, Shannon and staff for giving us a place to express our opinions. Mike:)

I hope you did not think I was complaining about the forum runners. But, rather the people attacking it. I know nothing about running a forum and appreciate Treefrog immensely.

Simon my thoughts and comments echo yours......The Lt.

I think Shannon and Pete have a lot more to worry about , what with all the software issues, but I also find it a lot of fun (challenging at times but that can be fun also) and I think this place keeps getting better, especially with the growth in the glossy areas. For that we need to thank people like the Lieutenant, Dave, Mike (ucla1967), Pat, KV, Rob from NZ and Roan. My apologies if I left anyone out.
