Wow have K&C hit on a winner here. The possibilities here are huge.I myself will not collect any as WW2 is my thing .But If a WW1 tank comes about well I will soon be changing my mind.A diorama with a tank and advancing troops behind will be to much for me not to buy some. What other things would you collectors like to see in this range.

Artillery! Specifically, heavy howitzers, not measly field guns. In the summer I had a chance to inspect K&C's great FOB French 75 and discovered K&C has advanced its craft with polystone to the point where truly detailed artillery is becoming a real possibility. Though I would still like to see them use enough metal to allow elevating barrel like the glossy Britains, Toy Army Workshop and Trophy could do.

I don't think we'll see any tanks for a while yet because K&C has chosen, logically, to start from the beginning of the war. Armored cars might be a possibility. Lorry trucks, motorcycles and horse-drawn wagons would be even better.

If K&C really is shrinking to 1:32 (as some claim), then Old Northwest Trading Company has come out with, or is about to release, some great British, German and French tanks that would be compatible. They even have the premade dioramas with tanks, troops and terrain bases you describe. At the very least, check out ONTC's new scenics to use with K&C's figures.

That French 75 is cool. And the dead guy from the FOB Stug will make a nice addition to the gun crew.I too would love some WW1 Artillery. We have a 9.2inch British howitzer at the museum, would love to see K&C do it.

Thank you CS,could that French 75 be used in a world war 1 scenario?.We also have a WW1 75 at the museum,i'm just wondering if it was excactly the same gun?.

When did the first suddenly become popular? Is it because it no longer has the haunting grip on nations memories that it did have?I cant really remember my great granddad, but he lost 3 brothers in the first world war, whenever a war film/documentary came on the tv,off it went, from what my family have told me,he never talked about it,too painful an experience, now with their memory fading, its funny how times change on what becomes acceptable or not. I cant really remember any world war one items from the 1970s,early 80s,was there no market for it or was it not considered due to poor taste?

PS EVERYBODY DON'T FORGET REMEMBRANCE /VETERANS/ARMISTICE /POPPY DAY coming up and for those in the UK,please buy a poppy.

well i think the first world war was more a war of attrition, with deaths and casualities on a previously never before seen scale. People, collectively at the time I think were more horrified at what had happened.
It involved chemical weapons and munitions and traumatised what became known as the 'stolen generation'.

Some of the soldiers weren't too keen on their generals either!

Siegfried Sassoon

If I were fierce, and bald, and short of breath
I'd live with scarlet Majors at the Base,
And speed glum heroes up the line to death.
You'd see me with my puffy petulant face,
Guzzling and gulping in the best hotel,
Reading the Roll of Honour. "Poor young chap,"
I'd say -- "I used to know his father well;
Yes, we've lost heavily in this last scrap."
And when the war is done and youth stone dead,
I'd toddle safely home and die -- in bed.

I'd forget my own birthday before i'd forget that mate.I have been wearing it for days now.Its so good to see celebs/newsreaders and other people in the public eye wearing it.This country always remembers its fallen and i'm very proud of that.
