Diorama of the Battle of Palmito Ranch, the last battle of the Civil War (Texas Civil War Museum)
Not many dioramas can claim the notoriety this one has. I'm not sure if the story has been covered on the forum before, but long story short. A high school class from Arizona created, including hand painting the miniatures, and donated it to the Texas Military Forces Museum. The museum's director, somewhat of an authority on the battle, disagreed with its accuracy and somewhat aggressively disassembled. The Texas Civil War Museum in Fort Worth commissioned the students to build a second version of their diorama for their own site, pictured below. You can read more here: http://www.statesman.com/news/news/students-build-second-diorama-depicting-palmito-ra/nRRsR/
As for the figures themselves, I recognize many of them as Shenandoah, though I can't vouch for all of them.
