I stumbled on this yesterday doing a search as I was curious if any past German soldiers had any 80th Anniversary D-Day events or if there were any articles including German soldiers attending the planned events at Normandy. I was able to read the full article yesterday but today it wouldn't allow me to. So maybe your allowed one article before you have to subscribe. Hopefully it works for those interested. I also added a couple of YouTube links to other articles on Hein Severloh. In the year 2000, the memoirs of Heinrich Severloh were released. The book was called Wn62 - Memories of a German Defender at Omaha.

Hi, I read Heinrich’s book/memoirs WN62 (Widerstandsnest - Strongpoint) few months ago having picked it up in a charity shop/thrift shop for £1. Very interesting read…came across as being in the wrong place at the wrong time so just got on with it.

I was fortunate enough to spend last week in Normandy and visited the remains of WN62 which is very close to the Omaha Beach cemetery.
