I just watched the dvd last night. By the way the dvd I got from NETFLIX has lousy features. I was trapped in previews with the menu and skip functions disabled unless I fast forwarded to the movie. There are no features or commentary with this dvd version.

Armored cars, motorcycles, and armed gangs just like other post-apocalyptic films. Elements of Fahrenheit 451.(1966) Good fight scenes and special effects. Washington, Oldman were really good with Malcolm McDowell showing up at the end as the "good" version of the character he played in Doomsday (2008) Some elements of A Boy and His Dog (1975) as well.

I thought The Road was better.a little boring and depressing but much more realistic then these other end of the world movies.

I watched it on my way to Japan and it really reminded me of MadMax with Mel Gibson...I thought Denzel was good in that role but it was just another Doomsday movie...

There are reenactors who WISH they could wear a forage cap as cool as Denzel.

I should have know it was the KJB he was carrying. Usually in these movies it's gasoline or the last child or something. Children of Man was pretty good on that theme.

I really enjoyed " Children of Man ". Well thought out, written ,and acted...I am still trying to sort out how a blind Denzel could karate kid any and all of the bad guys in " Book of Eli "...Michael

Agreed, yet perhaps the most amazing feat was his dead eye aim shooting of bad guys perched on roof tops!

I forgot about the Gatling Gun in the truck. They must have raided a collector.
The gang seemed to escalate in weapons when using the one big weapon first usually does the trick.

The "boss" reminded me a bit of "The Boss" in HG Wells' Things to Come except Oldman's boss didn't believe his own "b.s." All these movies seem to have a "boss" who is never a good guy.
