Hi Guys,

We just took delivery of a small batch of one of the most unique aircraft of the Vietnam Conflict
The North American Rockwell OV-10 ‘Bronco’.

First conceived as a twin-turboprop light attack and observation aircraft it was developed in the 1960s as being ideal for the counter-insurgency combat role in Southeast Asia.

This compact, two-seater aircraft was rugged, simple to operate and provided close air support and could utilize short-length runways and forward air bases.

A wide range of weaponry could also be mounted on the centreline and under both wings.

The ‘Bronco’s’ ability to take off and land from small jungle airstrips as well as from various roadways made it an excellent and very useful addition to the U.S. Forces capacity to disrupt enemy operations.

Broncos’ served with the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy and, of course, the U.S. Marines.
Our USMC models come in two colour variations… the high visibility ‘leaf-green’ and olive drab’.
Other nations that flew this unique aircraft were:
Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Morocco, Thailand and The Philippines.

For more details, contact K&C direct.
In the meantime, all the best and… Happy Flying!

Andy

Yes they all look great and no doubt will find homes with some lucky collectors.
I remember making the Airfix one as a kid, think I gave mine a camouflage paint scheme with Marines decals, no where as nice as these of course.

Great release/project Andy! I have always been fascinated by the Bronco. I used to fly with a Marine pilot that had a lot of time in them before moving on to the Harrier. He said they were a blast to fly with great visibility except in warm climates and with the sun out. Something about a “Green House Sweat Lodge” as he put it. I saw a few a year or two back at Charles Schulz Airport in Nor Cal. Cal Fire was using them. I still want to fly one.

Great post.

Then again, any post from Beaufighter is a great post.

Another member of this forum, Zach Bogues, was a FAC in Vietnam and I believe may have flown a Bronco.
