By Donovan Webster.
Just fantastic storytelling about the CBI Theatre and especially the Burma Road.
So colorful: a Japanese Company who lost 18 men to one Tiger which stalked them for a year, Stillwell, Mountbatten, that strange British irregular leader (forgot name?), Uncle Fester was a glider pilot, Julia Childs, Merril's Marauders, local headhunting levies, as nauseum.
His writing reminds me of Farwell's style.
Webster also traveled the area, and gives detailed accounts.
Inspired me to collect a Burma toy soldier set. Always looking for new figures for the endless variety of units.
Great look into a real "Backwater" of WWII. I recommend.
