a foreign language film...
I don't usually watch as the closed caption is annoying...
but I couldn't turn it off...
what a strange plot...

A German army deserter finds a Nazi captain's abandoned uniform during the final weeks of World War II. Emboldened by the authority it suddenly grants him, he amasses a band of stragglers that cedes to his every command -- despite the suspicions of some. Citing direct orders from Hitler himself, he soon takes command of a camp that holds German soldiers accused of desertion -- and begins to dispense harsh justice.

Mike, I've seen it. Found it very interesting and odd, at the same time. Didn't find any characters worth sympathizing with, except maybe the unfortunate driver the Captain first picked up, and he was borderline. Was worth watching. -- Al

I had no idea it was based on a true story...
the director stresses that almost every scene in the movie...
corresponds to what he found in the archives of the British General Military Court of Oldenburg, Germany.
put on the suit and they will follow authority...

what a bold, maniacal, sadistic, monstrous person he was...
still...
an entertaining show...
I couldn't turn it off...
