Just finished a lovely film with this title. Released in 1977 and tells the story of 2 chess obsessed men in Lucknow as the British and the East India Company assimilates the Kingdom of Oudh in 1856 just prior to the Sepoy Mutiny the following year. Mostly drama but a few good shots of British and Indian Cavalry on the march towards the end. Check it out, or...I'd love to know what others who've seen it thought.

I saw the DVD. It's got some good comic moments with the scene of the troops are the end.

I saw this one twice on DVD. It's more Bollywood than the Chess Players with several dance numbers. Some accuracy with uniforms and weapons but they forget to prime both the Brown Bess and the Enfields when they train the Sepoys to load.

Hey, that looks intriguing, Scott. When was this one made? I'll try to add this one to the netflix queue.

I borrowed it from an Indian co-worker. It must be available here but it's still on the Netflix waiting list.
