JJDESIGNS TREASURE HUNT

The Toy Soldier Show in Chicago is officially on Sunday 28th September.

From Wednesday 24th many dealers will have set up at the hotel of the show, for what is known as “room trading”.

This is a special time, as collectors can take their time and visit dealers, and manufacturers, and spend unforgettable moments talking and discussing all things toy soldiers.

Unfortunately John Jenkins will not be able to attend the show.

jjDesigns has 8 dealers at the show who will participate in a ROOM TRADING TREASURE HUNT!

Collectors can pick up a TREASURE HUNT COMPETITION LEAFLET, from any one of the eight participating jjD dealers.

The TREASURE HUNT COMPETITION LEAFLET will have a series of multiple choice answers to eight questions.

Each jjDesigns Dealer will have a new prototype on show.

Visit each dealer to find out the relevant question to the prototype.

Answer all eight questions, and hand in the leaflet to the dealer of your choice.

The prototypes will be awarded as a prize! Therefore there will be 8 prizes!!

The Winners will be announced on the 2nd October 2014.

So, how'd this turn out?

Been looking for convention coverage of JJ on the forum, but no joy.:(

Moe,

I posted a photo of the prototype of the Eindekker and I think George had the prototype of a pilot but the problem was, as far as coverage goes, that all the prototypes were all in different rooms and not in a Jenkins room. In addition, Jenkins didn't have a presence there like K & C, Britains, Collectors Showcase, Figarti and so forth nor any displays.

This made it more difficult for me and others to get photos in a place where it's so easy to get distracted.

I don't mean this as a criticism of John because to have a presence requires design and construction of dioramas and boots on the ground and that costs money and he may feel that the money can better spent elsewhere. Moreover, he may feel that having a presence may not necessarily lead to additional significant sales. First Legion follows a similar approach: nothing to really gain by going there.

Hi Brad,

I hope you understand that my question wasn't intended as criticism of YOU. Obviously, its incumbent on the manufacturer to market its work through events such as these. In the past, Jenkins has done a good job in this regard at venues such as the London Toy Soldier shows.

Where's "Old Bill" when we need him?^&confuse He is, of course, across the waves!:redface2:

For me, the pics that I find here are doubly important as I'm often not satisfied with the quality of the images that get posted to the manufacturer websites. I want to see more of things and hear comments from collectors who have seen the sets "up close and personal." For that matter, it was Old Bill's pics that got me hooked on KotS. But, hey, I'm a detail-guy!
Thanks again for your EXCELLENT work at the show,:salute::
