Just watched a darn good Cav and Indian movie on UTube.......It is one of the best B grade western on that subject I have seen....my opinion....starred Guy Maddison and Davie Whitfield...two charisma actors whom for whatever reason never made it to the Bigtime.......the story is good.....bit different from the norm which I think made it a better movie....worth watching if you have the time......I am especially happy with the movie because it is one of the few old movie's I have only seen once and always wanted to see again..... TomB......PS...I think there was another movie called The Command,,,,,stared Anthony Quinn about the French Foreign Legion....the story started in Algeria and end at the battle of Dien Bien Phu....darn good movie.....maybe someone remembers it.

Hi Tom. The movie with Anthony Quinn is called "Lost Command". It actually starts at the fall of Dien Bien Phu and continues into the French struggle for Algeria. It is based on the famous book called The Centurions written by Jean Larteguy. Very good book. Quinn is the commander of French paratroopers tasked with breaking the Algerian insurrectionists. If I remember correctly, the Quinn character is based on a actual French Para commander by the name of Bigeard who fought at Dien Bien Phu. A movie I much enjoyed.
Also like Guy Madison. He is best known for his lead role in the TV western Wild Bill Hickock. -- Al

Tom, Lost Command was made in 1966. Actually just saw it again recently a month or so ago. The actor who played the main Algerian guerilla leader is the George Segal, known now for his US TV sitcoms such as 'Just Shoot Me'. -- Al
