During the Great War Downton Abbey (a.k.a. Highclere Castle) served as a convalescent home for recuperating British soldiers. A new arrival is being greeted by two members of the nursing staff. The patient wears the standard issue blue uniform.

Figures: W. Britain
Ambulance: John Jenkins Designs

Below my diorama is a PR photo of some of the "patients" and medical extras from Season 2 of Downton Abbey

Wayne.

A really nice scene. I like those figures too - were they done in matte?

Thanks Wayne & Jack

The figures are part of WB's glossy WWI range from a while back.

I am going through stages with glossy figures - when I first started collecting I didn't give them a second look, but now I cannot help but feel they have a certain something.

For me my favorite glossies cover the period from the Victorian Era through WWI. Perhaps because this was a highpoint of the making of toy soldiers.

Treefrog has the W Britain WWI ambulance for sale now. I have one and it is very nice

Regal makes some very nicely painted glossies from these eras too
