This once great cricket team witch has been on top of world rankings for so many years has hit rock bottom. The golden years of being the greatest cricket team and hardest to beat has left us. This is nothing new at all in all types of sport as one team will stand out for years and then they will go through a rebuilding program. It's just our turn to rebuild and blood new younger players. I can remember the West Indies when they were on top of the world when I was a kid and then they lost through retirement so many great players. The thing is the West Indies are still no were near a great team and it's been Twenty + years since they were. Lets hope the Australian cricket team rebuild quicker than that and regain there no 1 ranking in just a few years. Simmo.:(

I'm sure Aus will return guys, but I think Ponting should go, awful series from him

You are right Rob , and some others should be dropped aswell. I have never seen England play aswell since the days of Botham and Willis. Enjoy it as long as you can as you no we will be back. Simmo.
 
Note I can stand losing to the English but I have a big problem losing to the KIWIS in rugby league and rugby. Simmo.

Thank you Simmo , as you said in your first post , all sports have periods where one team dominates for some time, Australia have been such a team and have been almost invincible for many years, and hey, the world cup is next!:)

Outstanding effort from the lads from the Mother Country. A great series and some outstanding batting and bowling by your team.
Not to worry though Simmo. I hear on the grapevine that the OZ selectors in their wisdom have recalled Lillee, Thommo and Warnie.:D:D

Thanks Howard, very sporting of you mate:). I'm hoping Mr Warne is playing in the IPL again this year, was very entertaining last year.
