I made this little redoubt section for napoleonic artillery. Makes for a nice simple scene or two.

I love it! Can we see a picture of the whole model? I would also be curious as tot he technique you used.

Thanks gents! There is no whole piece model/diorama, just cunningly angled shots of the redoubt section and its back drop is a Georgian town house I've made. I'll post pictures of it in entirety tomorrow, and a shot showing the whole redoubt.

The material I use is extruded polystyrene insulation board. It's very easy to indent with a ball point pen. This way you can add the brick detail or stone. Then lots of layers of paint and dry brushing (I sometimes scatter sand into the wet paint for texture. The actual structure I generally put together off the top of my head.

Thanks for the kind words and interest. It is much appreciated :)

Thanks Ollie, find this very interesting to view as I just recently decided to do a little more in the Napoleonics myself. Looking for your future work now. Robin.

Very nicely done Ollie
That is the material I use ( styrodur) insulation material, ideal for buildings and walls and very easy to work with.

It is a brilliant material, Guy. I adore it. If i've got a sheet to hand I'm a happy man. And to think people shove it in walls--what a waste! Thanks for your kind words. I'm a fan of your expertly crafted work and am always looking forward to the next masterpiece.
