After remembering the 6 part serial all these years, some kind soul has put the series that used to be shown on a Sunday at tea time on youtube

Not crystal clear, but then it's TV from 1977 and within BBC budget !

The main thing is, it sticks to Rosemary Sutcliff's story The Eagle of the Ninth

Surprisingly all six links work this end. If you enjoyed I Claudius, think of this as a more of a "Boys own Adventure" genre of the, With one bound he was Free. Type, in other words hugely enjoyable !^&grin

Hi Steve,
A very big Thankyou for uploading this great old BBC series for us all to share...

It was produced back in 1977, the year I left the UK to come to Hong Kong so I never got to see it then or even knew of its existence!

'Eagle of the Ninth' by Rosemary Sutcliffe was one of my favourite books when I read it at school years before and to rediscover it right here on the Forum is a huge delight and joy...

Just watched episode one and after this am going back to watch episode two...
Thanks again and best wishes,
Andy.
