I am not 100% sure on the process Simon. Overmoulding means that they use different coloured plastics to create the figure, therefor requiring very little painting (or naone at all).
You're right Simon! They're great but not £82 each great - I wonder if they will sell at that price?
I'm still puzzled as to why they made so few though. I can see the reasoning behind the expense but they rereleased the original four figures in different colours so why not these 3 if the molds were already there?
It's a mystery!
I had some of the Britains ballet figures that were cast in this process. (I was dating a ballerina at the time.)
The figures turned brittle and broke.
I had a great Super Deetail hospital set with doctors, nurses and patients. It was really brittle after a while, and the hands simply fell off the arms at the slightest touch!
They were very beautiful, though. I only wish Britains had solved that problem before releasing them!
