Ah so, Emperor figures are in the wings I read !

I wonder which ones will come our way ?
Whilst I don't suppose TG will do an entire unbroken line of Emperors starting with the twelve Caesars, I would think the following would be popular enough for TG to be worthwhile producing them.
Claudius, Nero, Vespasian, Titus, these last two I'd like to see both on foot and mounted.
Definitely Trajan and Hadrian figures, again foot and mounted.
Then Marcus Aurelius and his Co-Emperor Lucius Verus and a Commodus.

Finally for the Early Imperial line armour I guess TG could just about fit in Septimius Severus and Caracalla.

I'd also like to see the occasional Imperial family member, though there is probably little call for them.

How about this Emperor Steve, although not sure he will fit in with the Imperial era!

Well, he certainly is a striking figure in that headdress and even more so when he is painted !
The pose reminds me of the WW1 Lord Kitchener poster "Your Country needs You". Perhaps he is doing something similar such as, Constantinople needs You !

Domitian, Diocletian and Constantine would be worthy additions to a line of Roman Emperors. Domitian was not a great Emperor; but the Marcomannic wars began during his reign.

Valens and Theodosius the Great were pivotal Emperors of the Late Empire and greatly influenced the fall of the Western Empire.

Domitian was the last of the so called Twelve Caesars, Though I don't see a figure of him being a good seller for TG, but certainly willing for it to be proven otherwise.
Diocletian certainly an interesting character, Splitting the Empire in two with An Emperor and (a Junior) Caesar in each half before taking retirement ! There's an interesting portrayal of them in St Marks Square in Venice, clasped together like four brothers. Imperial art as displayed on their coinage has a totally different style to the Classical style though debased in content and style during the previous century and half. Nearest I can compare it to is 1930's Soviet.

Constantine and his son's surviving their sibling civil wars would be interesting figures along with figures of their armies and something I would buy !
Constans being the victor in the West and the last Emperor to visit Britain. Again another style of art in which the Emperor depicted, one can see reflected in dark age art that morphed in the East to the Byzantine art style.

Yes Valens and Theodosius were pivotal but at the end of the day I don't see them as good sellers. Gather a hundred or so collectors who are willing to stump up front and TG or another manufacturer would probably be willing to produce them !
For the range to survive and thrive TG needs good sellers !

Hi,
This line is welcome news.
I will be purchasing this figure and hope for more.
Here are some ideas: Basil the Bulgar Slayer and Justinian the Great with Theodora. I like the infantry too and would hope for a Cataphract too.

I believe we all would prefer the early Roman Emperors, Caesar , Trajan , augustus, with traditionally roman soldier gear,

Tha Byzantiun period should moove away from it and stick to the early popular Rome itself

In contrary I believe that the Byzantine period is very interesting and gives many options for great figures. Well done to T. Gunn. I would like a display of a Byzantine Emperor with his bodyguards.

Certainly is interesting though I think TG's most popular Romans will be the early Imperial over Byzants, Republic and if they should delve into 3rd Century and later. Simply because that's what Romans Soldiers are recognised by most people as looking like, through what they may remember from school and as it's what been mostly portrayed on TV, in Films and in popular fiction.

As TG I believe have said themselves, it's such a vast subject to cover they could be busy with them for years. Which is of course great news for anyone interested in the subject.
Though will probably mean waiting for ones own particular periods that are of interest to hopefully be produced by them at some stage !

I would of course be interested in anything Caesar related.Beyond him Scipio Africanus (though he wasn't an Emperor :)) and Septimus Severus. otherwise, this range would be a pass for me but I am interested in seeing what everyone creates once it gets legs.

The Lorca Segmenta; what most people think of as the typical Roman empirical armor was in use until the late third century, about 275AD. Mail was also widely worn by the auxiliaries i.e. Cavalry, Archers etc. Many interesting battles were fought during the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD, so restricting figures to the 1st century is very limiting. The Marcomannic wars lasted from 160 to 180 AD and encompassed invasions and sieges in northern Italy plus the loss of many legions in combat with Germans, Sarmatians and Persians. The most costly wars to the Roman Empire were the various succession wars where legion fought legion and TG's production of several types of shield insignia allow realistic legion versus legion combat over several centuries.

Remember Guys, there isn't a Separate line in Emperors at this time. Though going by this there should be !
