almost like they are counting on special effect to save it...

but Damon could save it...

Whilst I have not seen it yet I am very glad that the "enemy" in this movie are not based on actual fact{sm2}.

Next thing you will be telling us mercenaries with American accents were not travellng to China in those days before Marco Polo{sm4}.

I think I will skip, but I suppose the "effects" would be better realized with an IMAX 3D viewing.
Well over half the box office receipts were from China which was probably the intent. I avoid
anything Asian from food to entertainment.

Beside it's only Matt Damon. Samuel Jackson or Morgan Freeman are missing.

Saw it this evening. Thought it was entertaining and visually impressive. Why use one drum to sound battle stations when you can use multiple drums. The enemy was suitably nasty and plenty of action.

My wife liked it very much. She was impressed by the uniforms, the colour and even the different ways of fighting.

I had no problems with it at all. Could not work out Matt Damons accent but no big deal. His sidekick was fun. Strong female leader and the female soldiers had the hardest job (ie. bungy jumping with spears).

No problem recommending it as good action, visuals and humour.

Not bad, plenty of cgi, the scale of numbers on both sides fairly spectacular. Worth a watch. Robin.
