This is turning out to be a superb series, obviously made more relevant with the anniversary of the start coming in the next six months.

I'm sure we already have an idea of what is coming during the next few months, I expect there will be many surprises as well.

I'm particularly looking forward to:

French Tank Riders (Two sets at least)
British Tank Riders
At least one more set of Tommies unloading supplies
Tommies following/advancing (three sets?)
French Schneider Tank?
Gun Carrier

Combined with the KOTS series, its turning out to be a great (and very colourful) series....oh and expensive!

I particularly like the way the figures compliment and 'set off' the vehicles. This brings a whole new depth/dimension to the party I feel.

Pete

Could not agree more. JJ's Great War items are superb and I got my first item ( Sopwith Camel) just the other week. Priorities for me now will be both Mk V Tanks and all British and French soldiers plus ground crew for my camel.

Wonderful work John, keep it up!

Rob

Agreed, leading the pack with these wonderful great war figures and I am keenly waiting for some ARTILLERY.....:wink2:
Wayne.

Yep JJD has gone from my Sudan supplier to my WW1, an era I was attempting to stay away from:mad:, Robin.

Got GWF-20, Its one of John's finest sets to date (IMO)
Really looking forward to getting this set, as well. Want to match them up with the TGM Poilus I just got. I'll bet they look great together. Along with the TGM poilus, I also got the JJD French tank officer, which is a superb figure in it's detail, and goes well with the TGM poilus and my older ONWTC Poilus, which seem a tick smaller but not overly so. All these figures work well with the JJD St. Chamond and the ONWTC Renault. This is getting to be fun, with all this French stuff coming to us. -- Al

Got the standing poilu set (GWF-20) today and I am as pleased as I knew I would be. Superbly done in terms of sculpting, detailing, painting, and accuracy. Can't beat that combination. This is going to be a GREAT series and I look forward to great anticipation to the upcoming releases. Next month's 3 coming sets will really get things rolling. I might have to get a second St. Chamond tank to admire the model as the one I have now will be buried in Hairy Ones.^&grin -- Al

These are the figure sets I'm really looking forward to:

And, last but not least:
BGCPIC1_zps905b5d55.jpg

It's turning out to be a very colourful series. For me it's the mix of vehicles and figures, each complimenting the other. Also looking forward to figures for the Austin Armoured car.

Hi Al,

if you get this group together, like shown in the picture below, you are up for a beautiful display within your collection.
JJ really knows how to set up a splendid scene with plenty of varied poses.

These sets, like many of his other latest releases, are just awesome {bravo}}

Cheers!

Konrad

John really developed this group fantastically...so many different poses...

I have refused to collect any mechanized wars...

but this is so tempting!!!!

Konrad, you have sure hit the nail on the head with that statement. I have pre-ordered the next three sets, which contains 7 French soldiers when combined. Those 7 alone will total more matte French soldiers than existed 6 months ago. I had a lonesome 6 ONWTC Poilu to go with the ONTWC Renault 17 and that was it. Now, with these new JJD releases, I will have 10 JJD Poilu to go with the ONWTC figures and the pair of Poilu released by TGM. Add in the St. Chamond tank and the French supply truck by JJD and my French Army will have tripled in just a few short months, from 6 figures and 1 lone tank, to 18 figures, 2 tanks and the truck. The possibilities for different displays are now wide open. JJD has brought Christmas to me a little early, and it is quite well appreciated. :wink2: ^&cool -- Al

Michael your name is all over these. Just think of the buildings and scenics you can make for them.
Your fans demand it. You're getting sleepy... You will order all these sets now...^&grin

Very impressive JJD collection you have there, Pete. I see you have the 3 Camels all set to provide air support for your armored advance.:wink2: These are just fantastic models and are especially well detailed and weathered. -- Al

Very nice collection.Have a feeling it's going to grow by leaps and bounds in the next couple of years.{eek3}^&grin

Thanks Al, Thanks Mark!
Unfortunately I'm still two tanks, two hangers, one artillery carrier and an ambulance down! Oh and now a Thornycroft truck!!

Hi,
Does anybody have any pictures of their Great War collections they'd like to post? I'd love to see them. I'm interested in seeing other takes on displaying......may give me some ideas!
