Good shot Sherm, this beast is not easy to kill. Excellent diorama Duke.:salute::, Robin.

Nice Duke, now we just need the next scene with a Tiger taking out the Sherman!

Tom

Thanks everyone for the comments. Collectors Showcase does make some great looking WWII armor and very versatile for use in dios with all the opening hatches and the ones that have the thrown track feature. I wish they still made them with the damaged track, but maybe that was too costly to keep the new models at a reasonable price point?

There's an idea Tom, but this Sherman doesn't come with a thrown track. I have the excellent CS M4A3E8 Sherman that does have a thrown track as well as a shell ridden turret with exploded barrel. It's the winter version though so I could use my Winter Tiger I with the damaged Easy 8 for a dio like you suggest. :smile2: Maybe by the time I do the next set up it will be winter time. {sm4}

Go for it Duke!

That was an interesting question. I looked up the stats and the Panther was very vulnerable on the side.

incoming Sherman 76mm round penetrates side @
turret 3500m
super 2800m
hull 3500m

incoming Sherman 75mm round penetrates side @
turret 1500m
super 400m
hull 2600m

frontally the only reasonable(?) chance the 76mm Sherman had was the very small non-mantlet turret area at 700m, which hitting that was probably a 1 in 50 affair
