Well with a 'drum roll'.....

Sorry, a little late this month, here are the 'dollies' of the new Jacobite casualties set - AS CHOSEN BY YOU!- :D, Already looking exciting! Great for adding flavour to your dio's.

Look forward to seeing how the voting goes this time! ^&confuse

Updates as they arrive..

Whilst I've voted on these polls, I'd personally like there to be polls on other eras (or mixed polls), such as FIW or WW1 or the Sudan. Just limiting it to the Jacobites limits these polls to those who collect this series.

Just my thoughts!

Pete

Hi Duncan Heyward,

thank you very much for the update here and the sharing the first structures of the new sculpting with us.
It is very exciting to see a development from the "skeleton" to the finished sculpt.

Just to clarify, these will becomes British Line Casualties, right?
Not Jacobite casualties as you mentioned in your post.
Is that correct?

Cheers!

Konrad

Thanks again due to James & Adam at JJDUK.

This month I have voted against the trend. Grenadier casualties seem to be way out a head. I was kind of hoping for a mixed casualty set as proportionally I like to have lots more centre company troops. Working on a limited budget I avoid buying multiples of a set so I have more than enough grenadiers at the moment.

A four figure casualty set such as the US 1812 set with a mix of line and maybe one grenadier would have been my ideal to keep the balance of the companies. John will produce a great set no matter what but I voted for a sergeant this time round. Got to Have your NCO's back bone of any fighting unit! Can just image the expression and animation John can create. The old hand shouting orders pointing out dangers or protecting the colours! If we don't see one this time around its only a matter of time.{sm0}

Regards to one and all.

Glynn aka RAMC

This is a good thread and I enjoy following it. This range is one of my favourites. I do vote but hope that John will continue producing in this range. Personally I like to see some men from the Bailimore Higland battalion. They attacked form the Culwiniac enclosure and would add to any dio.

But what to aske more, there is enough coming my way. Maybe a British gun and crew to place on the right side of Barrel's regiment?

Well,I'll throw my hat in the ring again and vote for the British NCO.When I voted last time(for British casualties) I thought I was voting for both grenadiers and center company men.I was thinking, maybe ,a 4 man box set as John does so well for some of his other lines.I think JJD does casualties exceptionally well eg,in the 7 year's war Prussians. So I think we need BOTH a grenadier sergeant AND a"hat company" sergeant, not to mention corporals for both.Oh,and,by the way, some more Dragoons......Please.

What's up with the Jacobite collector's on this forum? I note that the first participation poll for picking figures garnered all of 33 votes. That seems like a lot compared with poll #2 that saw a whole 22 votes. Now poll #3, while relatively new, has 11 votes. I have voted all 3 polls. as I now several others have. So where is everybody else? Great chance for input to a receptive manufacturer, one who is seeking input, and we can only put together a couple dozen people? Where is our silent majority? Get out a vote, often.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

....weirdly fascinating image at the start of this thread.....it certainly gets to the 'bones' of the subject matter......(sorry!).......

....any-hoo....

...it's great to given another chance to pick a new Jacobite Range figure....a pair of British Grenadier casualties would fit the bill just perfectly to compliment the existing Highlander Wounded set, and the (hopefully now) British Line 'hat men' casualties.....

...then we can get back into requesting more unique figures.....Bagot's Hussars or the Prince's Lifeguards...?

...I second the earlier comment about a crew of Royal Artillery and a suitable piece of artillery....of course, there would need to be a few RA in 'action' poses to hold off the Jacobites that had burst through...

...additional Royal Ecossois in 'action' poses....and the Drummer.....Standard Bearer....and casualties (?)....

...lots more Lowlanders.....additional Highlanders wouldn't go amiss either....

...more British Line & Grenadiers of all ranks....

...more of everything really !

...John & JJD must be congratulated on giving those of us who collect this range the chance to help influence the next new figures...who knows how long this great opportunity will exist....I appreciate that it probably won't be a long term thing as there are many other great JJD ranges...

...for the time being....thank you very much !

.

I voted for the Eccossie standard bearer.

Come on George, TF, Hobby Bunker and Sierra and any other dealers on here. Put in a vote.

At this point I would like to see more Highlanders in action. John mentioned that it is harder to train and hire painters who can do the intricate Tartan designs.
I assume that costs for these will rise faster than the other participants so lets do more now!

Went with British NCO this month. - If we get one of these fine fellows to stiffen the English lines, I'll probably then start voting for additions to the Royal Ecossois.

Since the uniforms are the same except for the hats, if John were to make these upcoming English casualties hatless.......They would then could be used with both center companies 'hatmen' and flank company grenadiers. ( Two birds with one stone )

Konrad, I am sure you are correct.

Chalklands, well there were supposed to be other period threads, but I only have so much time to sort them... sorry, plans in the works and lots of FIW for you in the pipeline!

NYsoldiers, I'm with you, clever thinking! I heard a few years ago that we'd never get another tartan figure again, due to cost. It makes the current figures both Scots and Gordons a bargain which we expect people will wake up too soon.

Voting up on last month, and its a close run thing right now!? Exciting, it is definitely a 2 horse race this month! {sm4}

...yes indeed...the voting is getting interesting....:wink2:

...but no more tartan ! {eek3}

...say it isn't so....

While my last two votes and my vote on this current went for "British" subjects, Drummer, British Line Infantry Casualties and now British Grenadier Casualties, I will make sure next month to put my vote in for "extra Highlanders" :wink2:
And as along as the option will be there I will vote for them.
Would be a real shame not to see any additions to the Highlanders anymore.
The currently available releases surely are among the best Toy Soldiers ever made.
So, here's hoping to see a few more in the future, made to the same standards, of course.
Happy Collecting!
Konrad

P.S. I don't get it that there are not more people using the option to vote here. For sure there have to be more than some twenty "Jacobite Rebellion" collectors here on the forum.

...whilst explaining the 'do's and don'ts' of this hobby to Little Cairnbeg.......which involved allowing him to set out all of the existing Jacobite figures onto a table top (a nervous moment I must admit, but I was brave ;) )....it brought home that I'm lacking the following :-

Royal Artillery, in various action poses, and supplied with an appropriate sized cannon...

British Line NCO's & Officers...

Considerably more Lowlanders...

Royal Ecossois in action poses, Standard Bearer, Piper, etc...

Mounted Jacobites....

Additional Dragoons....

...the existing figures looked great together....one of the rare times I get this chance to see them all at once....I'm still waiting / deciding how to show them off....so at the moment they are neatly stored away.....

More Lowlanders....

...but it would be fantastic to get so many more additional figures....

More Lowlanders...

...so keep the releases coming....and whether or not the Wish List's continue.....my interest certainly will......

More Lowlanders...

:smile2:

I don't know what happened, but I suddenly, inexplicably desire.......More Lowlanders......:)

Hi,

Anyone know if we are likely to get a Corporal with the Sergeant (assuming we get a Sergeant) like the F&IW sets? I am hoping so!

Thanks in advance,
Chris

...a snap-shot of a Jacobite collector's thought process....

..."so then....the figures released at the moment favour the action fought close to the walls of the Culwhiniac enclosure....the Jacobite right / the Government left..."

= I need scenery = e.g the walls !

..."the combined Argyle Militia (Campbells) and 64th Highlanders (Ballimore) broke through said walls to allow the Dragoons to progress..."

= I need a selection of Militia and red coated Highlanders to portray this action....

..."back alongside the three ranks of Barrell's and slotted between the other regiments were the Royal Artillery"...

= I need a couple of crewed 3lb cannons with Royal Artillery crew / officer / etc in various action poses......

= I need British Line Kneeling Firing...and then Sergeants pulling the men together...

..."as the action developed outside of the Culwhiniac enclosure, various elements of the Jacobite forces were moved over to assist, the Royal Ecossois, Lord Ogilvy and other Lowlanders......so far JJD have done sterling work in releasing a few Royal Ecossois and there's the yet-to-be-released Ogilvy Regiment Flag Bearer (thank you, thank you, thank you!)"....

= I need more Royal Ecossois troops....in action / a Flag Bearer (what a great looking Standard that will be!)....more Lowlanders to defend the Ogilvy Flag...

..."now that the Dragoons are through the walls and passing the outskirts of the Culchunaig steadings"...

= I need more scenery !

..."the Dragoons swing up northwards attacking grouped Lowlanders"...

= I need more Lowlanders !

...there's absolutely no pressure to produce any of ***more Lowlanders*** these figures....and it may be a tad bit selfish to harp on about 'needs'.....but....we know JJD can produce excellent figures.....and all of the above would surely look fantastic when set out on display.....

...no pressure at all....it is a 'wish-list' after all....:smile2::smile2::smile2:

...(application of sad puppy-dog eyes at work round about now)....
