Hi all, hope everyone is doing good out there. I was fooling around with some different perspectives yesterday afternoon and captured this shot. I call it The Japanese Perspective. Have a great one!

For some reason .. :rolleyes2: .. there are only a few that show the Japanese P.O.V.
I wonder if "American" collectors have some guilt feelings showing the Pacific War from the Japanese perspective, as you say.

Steve has made a couple and (I think) another "frogger" but I can't remember at the moment who it was.
Thomas Gunn has made a good number of Japanese .. behind the front line .. figures. Officers at desks, at attention, flag bearer and such.

I am REALLY hoping to see these in a K&C style...

Thanks for a nice way to start my Sunday, Rob.
More please, I am still not awake yet!!!

PS: Home made sand bags???

I see what you mean, Larry. It's unfortunate though, because the figures are really nice IMO. Perhaps the same thing going on with the Viet Cong; although many of us have no issue with posting the WWII Germans (but that's another topic, and not trying to generate another Troubled Road to Nuremberg discussion).:wink2:

They have. I'm starting to appreciate their figures more and more. I purchased a few Thomas Gunn WWII German naval figures and really like them. Quality is really nice with some great figure expressions. Their vehicles are pretty cool as well.

Oh no, I'm no good at designing myself. It's part of a purchased set.

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and value your feedback, Larry. Thanks much! :salute::

Here's an older revisited picture that highlights some of the nice detailing of the Japanese figures. I only purchased two K&C Japanese figures that I have not liked because they both have unusual leans that cause them to easily tip over.

I have a limited amount of Japanese figures, just to give the Marines etc some opposition, but can understand why Japanese figures aren't popular because of the way they are remembered from the second world war when they did act in a cruel, savage and depraved manner.

As for the Viet Cong / NVA, Once again I do want some opposition for the Allied figures. But again their bestial behaviour towards their own people does their reputation no favours and anyone who served and or had friends /relatives killed or maimed physically or mentally will justifiably not want to have anything that might be looked on as them being "ok" and not representing something that should only be loathed.

Hello, Custer.

WOW ... very nice K&C Iwo Jima sets ... ^&grin
I have only a few sets from Iwo Jima series, due to the very high secondary market price that most folks are asking.
Your's are wonderful to see.

The Chi-Ha is one that I would love to find.

I hope that as the JN series develops further Andy will consider do a re-make using the IWJ as a starting point.
[NOTE: In fairness Andy has some JN's that are very close to the IWJ. And I am waiting to see a USMC Pacific Sherman that is in the works.]

When it comes to the JN (Japanese Navy) series there are really TWO series.

One is the JN NAVY figures
Second is the JN ARMY figures.

Why JN for both ... ^&confuse ... probably just ease of numbering.

I have a boat load of the JN NAVY sets (YES, pun intended), with multiples of many JN Navy figures. For example I have 6x JN-002 sets and 6x JN007 sets and multiple pilots.

The JN ARMY I am still working on but far less in numbers. Like many collectors on here, my father, uncles and more family all were in WWII and IN THE PACIFIC. I had 6 US Navy and 4 USMC and 1 in WAVEs.

My dad and one uncle had no issues with the Japanese people after the war.
The others family REALLY DID, :mad: including my mother, who said she would never allow me to come home if I married a Japanese girl ... jeezzz.{sm2}
Not sure what she would think of my collection?

PLEASE: Let's not start a heated discussion here.

COLLECT AND ENJOY.

Hi Larry

Just trying to give an answer to Rob's question as to why people don't / won't collect inanimate objects representing some types of what were enemy troops, but happy to collect others.

Part of the answer perhaps will be down to their own / family's experience.
As time goes by attitudes change especially for new generations.

So carry on collecting what you like and enjoy :salute::
