Friends and family say he was a highly intelligent boy who spent hours on the computer and loved video games, something which is stirring the debate about violent imagery in games and the effect it has on young people.

There is nothing inherently bad in either video games or computers. Have you been to Game Stop lately? It's big business. They're convenient scapegoats. I don't believe playing with toy soldiers causes the outbreak of wars.
 
I think you would be hard pressed to find many kids in the entire country who don't like or play these video games - and quite a few adults. If they provided some type of motivation to commit a rampage shooting, it would happen every day. And they don't just play these video games in the US but all over the world. But we seem to have this problem.
 
The kid had something broken in his mind and if he lived a hundred years ago he may have done something similar, computers, video games and etc I don't think had anything to do with it.
