Gentle Friends,

Several forum members have asked me to post some pictures of figures contained in my collection. I have stalled and delayed acting on these requests for two very good reasons. These two reasons are as follows:

1.) I am a terrible photographer.

2.) I have not mastered the art of posting pictures on this forum.

Therefore, I have resolved to swallow my pride, take some poor quality pictures, and attempt to post some of my doubtful photographic artwork to the forum. To that end, I have successfully taken some poor quality photographs and now it is time to see if I can learn to post them. If I succeed in posting these pictures, I will try to muster the courage to post a few more. Finally, after forwarding my first round of pictures to the forum, I will experiment with producing a higher quality of photograph. However, given my history with the camera, I cannot pledge to improve too much!

Now, let us see if I can manage to post a picture. If I succeed, you might recognize "The Lads."

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Gentle Friends,

Or should I say,

HEY DUDES! I DID IT!

I apologize for the above outburst of childlike glee as I attempt to post another of my less than stellar photographs of the Lads!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Ahhhhhh Gentle Friends,

I never knew photographic ectasy could be so grand!

You may relax now. This will be the last photograph I post for the moment, although I won't promise to contain my newly acquired knowledge for long. If you don't like my pictures, blame Dave. Dave has provided me with the greatest encouragement to post some pictures. Unfortunately, the rest of you may have to pay the price for my new found confidence!

I do hope some of you like "The Lads."

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Great set up Pat.
Now you've mastered this photo-on-to-forum thing, they'll be no stopping you.

Hey great job Pat, I still have problems. I know I can do, the pics look great. Good Luck post as many as you can. Mike.

Nice job Pat. Keep 'em coming.

By the way, no luck yesterday. Sorry.

Hi Pat,

Great to see you take the plunge! Looking forward to the knights and other goodies!

All the best

Dave

Britains 24th Foot at Rorke's Drift and they look fine Pat. Thanks for Supplying the LADS to help out at The Drift...........The Lt.

Looks good pat! I remember the first time I tried posting pictures on here. Its not easy getting started but once you,ve got your first couple of photos on here it pretty easy from there. Always glad to see another member learn to post photos so we have more to look at.

We need a thread on how to post photos and reduce photos and take better pictures, to many forum members seem to have a hard time with this.

Thanks for posting the images , I always like to see how people display their troops and you have a great display. Thanks again!
Harold Scott

Tim I agree with you and it would be nice for all if a thread was started. I'm sure jazzeum (aka Brad) would help by passing on his knowledge for he's helped many getting their photos posted to the forum. Both you and Steven got me started and look at the monster you created. What I enjoy most about the forum is scanning for photos posted. It's great seeing what others have collected along with some of the great works of art done by our members. Looking forward to seeing loads of photos from all...........The Lt.

I'm glad to help out anybody and will mention this to Pete as he seems to be an expert. However, I also think it depends on what kind of photo software you have.

With Microsoft, as I mentioned earlier, it's pretty easy. You just have to resize it. In Microsoft Photo Manager, you just reduce the photo (which is usually 1600 x 1200) to around 520 pixels and that fits the Board's software requirements.

Pat, there is nothing wrong with your pictures--you don't need to apologize for the quality. We can see your soldiers and we're happy to be able to do so.
Thanks for posting!

Pat - nice job with the photos - great set up. The mirror is a nice touch. Is this really you trying to get the whole photo thing down or is this some subplot to inspire me to get Britains back into the Zulu War???

Richard

Hi Pat,

HMMM I wonder if Richard is on to something since I keep asking to see knights and all you send is Zulu War stuff:rolleyes: ... The plot thickens...;)

All the best

Dave

Pat and David I hope it gets thicker. I'm waiting for Richard to send along a major relief force to help me defend The Drift before all is lost..........The Lt.
