Hi all,
So, there is still one among the living who personally met Napoléon, Mon Empereur, who gazed upon him with his/her own eyes, and who has personnaly come in contact with the Empereur. Who is this last living witness? What is his/her name? Where can you meet him/her (hint-I have never been there, as it is to dificult-hope to go before he/she dies)? For now, let's see who can get this without google, and maybe those who got this immediatly could wait and see if we have some newcomers... Thanks.

And what is his/her name? But yes, he/she is a giant tortoise! By the way- Larrey King never got around to meeting Napoleon- As a veteran of Roman wars in Corsica, he had a thing against Corsicans.

We have a winner! The prize is an all inclusive trip to St Helena to meet him*! Congrats. By the way-his wife's name was Josephine.

*Trip does not include airfare/passage or lodging or food. But if you pay that, I might as well get ya the meuseum tickets.

Sandor, where did you get your source from? I found a few articles on the Web stating that Jonathan the tortoise arrived on St Helena in 1882, therefore way after Napoleon's death and by that time his body was already back in France. Please see one of these articles: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...aled-worlds-oldest-animal-Boer-War-photo.html

Ah, yes I have see this article as well. When I get back from visiting Ingolstadt, I will post an article that says that Hudsen Lowe imported him. But when I get backto the US, I will finish tracking down a National Geographic article on the St Helena tortoises, which I have read in a library but I do not yet own. I believe this has the best information, and can settle this question.
In my opinion, I is Johnathan, as I remember the NG article saying so, but I am be wrong.
Good catch,
Sandor
