In tuesday i watch French movie from 2009 that is called The last French King Lui XVI ( or something like that).
The story was based on the last day of the French King where he try to escape with his familly and ho whe got caught.
Well since thsi si not Holiwood movie and it was produced by France i am totaly sure that this is how it is happened, and i like this movie very much.
But there is also some new informations i realise i didnt know because all i know that his granfather Lui XIV was an idiot, so i was thinking all the Bourbon Kings were idiots like Lui XIV, but now i see that this LUI XVI was on eof the best and like the story teller say at the end " Lui XVI will be the best king France ever have if they will just give him a chance".
Why he was so great?

First of all:- He never make war in Europe, he live in Peace with European countrys, he only makle war in America with English where he support a freat deal to Americans to gain there independence
-He was a familly oriented, peace loving man
-He never leave the country even if that will make his survive his life, his wife was an Austrian and she wannt that they escape to Austrai, he say he will never treason his country by abandod the country
-People of France love him, but they hate his Wife,Austrian whore, who live in an exepensive cost
-when peasants block his road the Hussars come to rescue the King he say to them that he do not wannt that French killing French so he didnt order the attack even later he and his familly was killed by his own people.

Now i have some questions for the French historians:

-why the hell the Dragoons didnt come to rescue the king or the Hussars when he was in prison in Pariz or even before in Versailes?
-why they didnt com eto rescu eth eking when he was blocked his way in that small village when h etry to escape and they should com ein bigger number, because i can not understand how a few vilagers can b ea threat to an army of Hussars.I think there come only a few hussars to help the KING.
Where are the rest of an army?
Who command Dragoons and Hussars?
What was the role of Lafayette? Was he commander of infantry or what?
Why army didnt protect the KING no matter if there is Hussars,Dragons,infantry,musketirs,...? whe he was in prison or in any kind of danger.
King try to meet with some of his Friend Duke of something so he try to escape there:
-who is that Duke?
-why it was so immportant to get there?
-What will change if Lui will meet with this Duke?
-Why this Duke didnt send the army to protect the king when he was in traveling?
-and what the hell army will listen the Duke and not the King?
-Where was the Kings army like musketirs to prevent KING being taken hostage?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE FRENCH PEOPLE THAT KILL HIS OWN KING?
The bad king was LUI XIV and they didnt have the courage to kill LUI XIV so why they kill Lui XVI than?

Is there today any member of Bourboun familly in France?

( I like their flag much more than a Tricolore!)
I think they have much more cool flag than triclolore, i sit posible to buy this flag for my personal use?

How will they look at me if i come to France wearing the Bourbon Flag?

I am not a french but I WANNT THAT FRANCE HAVE A KING!

I don't think you'll find any Frenchmen alive who will agree with you that Louis XIV was an "idiot". He increased and consolidated the size of his realm and made France a premier power in Europe, at a time when the Holy Roman Empire was still the force to be reckoned with on the Continent.

Regarding Louis XVI's personality, it didn't matter to the revolutionary forces that he was a family man, or kind, etc. He represented the old regime, and there were some very radical and very bloodthirsty elements among the actors in the French Revolution.

I've found Simon Schama's "Citizens" to be an excellent look at the events, from the outbreak of the revolution to the fall of Robespierre, and I recommend it.

Prost!

Being French/American born in France I agree with Brad. Louis XIV was not an idiot. He was the King Sun (one of the longest ruling French kings btw) and ruled during the Century of Lights where France was the center of intellectual power, humanities, etc. and one of the strongest European countries and fyi I am not a supporter of monarchy.:)
Unfortunately for Louis XIV and from his own wrongdoing, costly wars, expensive living style, out of your mind castles (e.g. Versailles) drained the French kingdom coffers and this is where things started to go wrong for the French monarchy. Louis XV didn't do much to improve things and basically Louis XVI paid for his ancestors' and own mistakes (weak ruler)...The rest is history. BTW Louis XVI was not the last French king, there were a few more and 2 emperors after him until French became a republic...:)

Well you said it bro.
He was a sun king living a very expensive life and i was visiting Versailes and the tour guide tell us that he was drunk most of the times, he didnt wash, he just make this expensiv epartys, he made love to maids,...stuff like that so thi sis the reason i say he was an idiot.
Well anyway, now i think France need another revolution and begin Monarchy again.
Because all th egood thing happened to them it happened when the Bourbun familly rule them, all that stuff with Napoleon didnt last for long time and all he counquer they lost but when the Bourbuns counqer like Reunion islands,Caribean Islands,Tahiti,...all that is even now over sea land of France. So sho wsom egratitude i will say to the French people, but right now there is hard to fin da french people because there are many people from Africa that are French today,.....sad but true.I guees they are too liberal that will cost their life style one day.
Also Queebec didnt counquer by Napolen but by Bourbouns, so The Bourbuns familly rules!

Can someone tell me about the Bourbuns before Lui XIV who was Bourboun I, and II, III, IV,.....etc

i do not trust wikipedia

True, you must take anything you read there with a grain of salt, but you can't dismiss it out of hand. For the history of the Bourbons, it's probably going to be relatively reliable. Then you can google "Bourbon dynasty" and see what you find.

Und damit, basta, prost!
