Just saw the Lone Ranger.....the story was presented in flash back style which I thought was unnecessary and spoilt the total enjoyment of the movie......the graphics were AWSUME....the action fast and amusing except in one instant ( poor old injuins copping it again) and Johnny Debb was Johnny Debb.......when I can get the DVD back from the grandkids I will watch it again and no doubt again....yer just gotta see the great train chase...cheers TomB

I saw it on a 13 hour international flight that was followed by a ten hour international flight that left two hours late. I am 6'3", squashed in economy, the food was awful, the toilets were foul, the passengers around me snored, kicked the back of my chair or grabbed my head rest in order to drag themselves to their feet.

The movie was still the worst part of the flight.{sm2}

Thanks Tom but I was trying to be compassionate but if I came across differently I keep chickens and know how to handle cock roosters. Chris.

I can only assume you have never seen the movie "Cowboys V Aliens" Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig; that movie surpasses everything in terms of horribleness, and I also watched it on the plane. Felt like asking for my money back.

Cheers

Oh Dear - hope they've changed the movie - as I'm off to NZ via Sydney soon. Never mind - have a look at these instead. (the other figure is Billy the Kid, by the way). jb

Yes ... I have seen it. I made it through to the end as well! What happened to Harrison Ford? It is like I went to bed one night in a world that recognised him as a movie legend and then woke up to find he was over the hill and prepared to appear in any movie if he was paid. I am a big fan of Michael Caine but it is reminiscent of his attitude. The story did the rounds that he opened any envelope he saw just in case there was money in it!

Have just seen the full Lone Ranger movie....I was wondering around earlier and just happened to see the parts with humor and great CG graphics...Why all that deep rubbish in the movie?..it kept going from heavy drama to comedy....Why?.....I ...for the life of me cannot understand what the director was trying to say....that director should be called a..Fitter and Turner....he fitted what could have been a good comedy, into a pot ,and turned it into crap....my opinion...TomB

I saw this one expecting the worst from all the terrible reviews and box office bomb. It actually wasn't that bad in my opinion. It's too long, with too many chase sequences but otherwise a decent Hollywood action movie. I think many people are fed up with Johnny Depp playing the same character over and over. It was fun at first, but this is about the tenth role where he plays a quirky Capt. Sparrow-type role.

I thought the comedy bits were okay but I could not understand why the heavy bits...ruined the movie for me...I have only seen Depp as Sparrow and Tonto ( Tonto...not brilliant but okay, I much prefered Sparrow,but if was a different roll) so I cannot comment on his other movies.....there was only..ONE...HI...HO..Silver in the whole movie...gee....that used to be the hi-light in the serial when I was a kid.......regards TomB

I thought the "heavy" bits added some substance to the movie, but I can understand how it might not be consistent with the expectation of fans of the original TV series. For me, it was just too long and had too many chases. I think it was over two hours like some kind of art film. Also, I can't imagine too many people under 40 can even remember the TV series. They probably had no interest in the film which was a big reason it was a bomb. Not many of us old guys venture out to the movies.

If it aint on DVD I do not bother...the last time I went to the movie's was to see "Memphis Bell"......I wanted to see that movie on the big screen....I have the original WW2 movie of " The Bell's" last mission downloaded from Utube.......worth a look at...have some pictures of the crew and the 17 together somewhere.......regards TomB

I bought the jazzed up William Tell overture from the sound track. Was this played over action or the credits? ^&confuse

Yes the one was really, really bad. It was a an amazingly poor effort actually.

Finally watched The Lone Ranger on DVD. Much of it was fun. Many sharks were jumped though.
