I had stumbled on a web site with the new FJ's and found that these sets seem to be more expensive. the set with 4 figures the "returning fire" was priced at 115.00. Looking at the older 4 piece sets still for sale run about 85- 89 dollars. is there a reason for this big jump.

:) Yes, its because we don't have any Manufacturer's , in this Country USA! But, Labor is getting Expensive in China, and average Family is making $25,000.00, a Year! Not Many Local County's make that Kind of Money in Rural areas in USA! We also, have LAZY People who rather Smoke Dope and Chew Rope!

I am not sure I am following you- are you saying you know of places that are still selling those old FJ sets at retail?? I haven't seen any of the FJ's for anything less than $200. If I had a choice between the 2 sets, I would certainly buy the older ones at retail.

I recall quite vividly the inital FJ's and they were the first sets, I believe, to have the crisper matte look and the pirce hike. I steered clear of them because of the price hike- I liked getting my normal WS figs at $80/set. I thought $90 was a bit too much then. Well, look at me now- buying away at $90/ pop

I have noticed the price increase as well but before the FJ line. What can you do though?? It is what it is, everything is going up.

Take Care,
CC

I think he means older four figure sets in general not FJ sets specifically.

Interesting point about prices. The quality is improving all the time and the price goes up alongside it.

The new Stug is an interesting example though because you are paying for a sign and a dead figure as well as the tank.
Personally i'd just prefer the tank and the occupants which would take a fair bit off the price i'd guess.

That is the point i was trying to get across.

I agree - I am not a big fan of this figure stuffing thing in K&C Sets and raising the price. I think it would be better for the collector to have sets closer to $100 - $120 - instead of the $139 to $159.00 prices now.

Every few dollars we save - we get to buy other items - it helps the collector in the end.

Believe me when I say I'd rather have the sets at the lower price, but to be fair, the 4 figure sets have been retailing for around the $85-89 a set for a good number of years now and haven't crept up in price, where as inflation, labour costs, and I'd guess material costs, have all inched upwards over the years.

You can also break down sets and sell individual pieces and figures, hopefully recouping some of your costs to buy more armour or pieces that you cant live without. Most of us cant "have it all" but it sure is fun trying to get there whatever your mode of collecting happens to be.

I really believe there should be smaller sets too. Two person sets would be a nice and also a TANKER SET - where you have several different Tanker Drivers and Commanders that you can put in your several K&C Tanks - make it a mixed set (German, American & British) or all one of a kind with several diffrent poses. I think it would be a big seller.

Hi Guy's
I am involved with a lot of production in China for my design business (I have a factory and employ 100 people just over the border in china) and believe me to get good quality China is not cheap.......Andy and Helen have a hard job but deliver great results for us all!

Yes some very good film indeed.Like the film of the m/bikes and sidecars, made it look a much easier landing than it was didn't it?!

Rob

Made it look like a piece of cake which i know it was not - did u see the
37mm being towed by a motorbike? I never thought that would be possible but there you go!

I must have missed that. The stuff that came out of those Junkers was surprising wasn't it.Would love to know what the commentator was saying throughout.I bet he didn't mention the Royal Navy turning up and sinking most of those small boats at the beggining!
