The NLCS Begins!! (1 Viewer)

I think who wins tonight will win the series, things don,t look good tho.

I have a feeling Detroit Tigers will be playing in the world series against Mets or St. Louis soon. Leadmen

Gary,

I think it's too early to tell. Even if the Mets go up 2-0 (a big if), the Cards are going home for 3. Regarding tonight, Carpenter is one of the best pitchers in baseball, so the Cards should be favored tonight.

Well, it's even Steven :( The legion of Mets mistakes are several: bad defense when it mattered, lousy starting pitching and bad bullpen pitching. Wagner has been known for blowing up these times and he picked a good time to do it.

Onto St. Louis!

Well, it's the second inning of game 3, the Mets have lost another starting pitcher to injury and it's beginning to look like a long evening. It looks like the injuries to the starting rotation has finally caught up with the Mets. Just one of those things that you really can't do to much about.:(

Brad, even if we win tonight to go up 3 - 1, the Cardinals have done this a few times recently and still lost the series. but I,ll still take a win tonight.
If we do win the series, you Met fans should be embarressed being beat by Scott spezio, So Taguchi and a HR by Suppon.

Gary,

As you probably know, the Mets closer has a history of not always showing up in some tight games although he hadn't blown one since June or July and Spezio has some incredible numbers in the post season so what can you say about Friday. Saturday, the Mets needed Trachsel to bring his A game and he pitched probably the worst he ever did for the Mets.

Let's face it, we're without two of our best pitchers and maybe you have to say that they did the best they could under the circumstances. Tonight is obviously important and you have two untested pitchers going. Unfortunately, the Mets are the ones in the hole here. Next year, they're really going to need to beef up the starters especially with no Pedro until July and who know what you'll get.

As I've often said, being a Mets fan is about suffering. That's why you have to appreciate when they're in the playoffs because you just don't know when it's going to happen again.

All that being said, if they can win tonight, I think they'll win tomorrow and head back for NY to the friendly confines.

Well, it's now the winner of two out of the next 3 and two of those are at Big Shea. Awesome power display, decent starting pitching and great bullpen work so a very good, relaxed feeling :)

We were humbled.
It looks like an all day rain here in St Louis, tonights game could be iffy.
If Pujols comes out of his funk we could be alright.
Gary

I'm hoping it rains real hard all day so Tommy can have his normal rest. If the Mets don't win this game, they probably don't win since you would have to say that Carpenter is not going to have two bad games in a row.

This is a hard series to figure out as you can't say one team or the other has the upper hand. It's just day by day.

For sure, either will be a decided underdog to the Tigers. If the Mets do go through, they will probably have El Duque back, a huge advantage. First things first, however.
