Guys - I have my client in this week for Congressional Meetings on Capitol Hill
about our new Artillery Weapon we will be releasing in Paris in two weeks.

While doing the Lobbyist thing of Dinner and Drinks over some Lamb Chops - the Senior Vice President for KMW starts talking about his grandfather who served in the German Army as a Tank Commander in a Panther Division.

While we had a great conversation on tanks that evening - I started thinking ... " the recently retired K&C Panther - that would be a great gift !"




So last night I presented him with the Panther and he was really appreciative - he didn't know that Tanks were being made with so much detail and was really impressed (and this is coming from a Tank Producer).

Well - Andy should be pleased with that news.

Anyway - this was first time outside of and friends that I have given K&C products as a gift.

How many of you have ever done that and what is your story ??

I've given servicemen vehicles that they served in as gifts. I presently have a Figarti Iraq War Humvee to give as a gift to a Marine Commando named Fred who lives near me. He just got back from a tour in Iraq where the Humvee he was top gunner on got blown up. He has scars all over his arms (and I imagine elsewhere) from the shrapnel, and his buddy who was driving lost both legs. He admired a Humvee in my collection, so I am presenting him with one.

Job well done Ron & Louis-tactful & very generous. In regards to K&C sets as a gift, I have given the Limited Christmas sets as holiday gifts annually. The Napoleonic Santa was a big hit especially for the non toy-soldier collectors.

Classy move Louis- if I were to try that with my buddies though, I'd take a pounding- they just don't want to see anything brown anymore- anything that doesn't have the name JACK DANIELS in it- they'll pass

My first boss and mentor is a Scotsman. He was a real pain in the you know what but he taught me everything I know about what I do. I gave him years ago a single K and C Seaforth Highlander in a red tunic. The one with a bandage around his forehead and loading his rifle. He still has it in his office. I think he is a bit annoyed that I went off into trauma and did not stick around to help him with the livers.

Very classy act Louis. Many civilians don't fully understand how much military types appreciate a simple act like this and how much it means to those who have served that their fellow countrymen have them in their thoughts.

Great idea Ron! To bad there were no Prussian Naps to give him. We can only hope and dream!

I really think Germans would like to have these items - but, out of fear or the fact they don't know these exist is the reason why they don't have them. Today, I gave him the K&C Iron Cross Brochure

Hey Ron:

I was the lucky recipient of the KC DD53 British infantry set from Mrs. Currahee About a month ago, I burned 4 vacation days to come in and work at her daycare to cover some personnel shortages. She came up to me a week or so ago and said to pick whichever set I wanted.

SHE ROCKS!!

Giving KC (or any other manufacturer for that matter) is a really kind gesture, especially when we take into account how expensive they are. In general though, at least for me, I believe it is better to receive toy soldiers than it is to give

I give the old man K&C all the time. He really is a gloss collector. But if the item is pertinent he gets one or two from me. Like the Kriegsmarine or now shhsh... I got him a flashman for Fathers' Day! I also give figures I have made to friends and the gf when it is appropriate.
