Just picked up the newly released DVD whilst out food shopping with Mrs Evzone (well some one has to push the trolley!)

Although historically inaccurate, it’s a good entertaining film with lots of computer-generated dogfights, balloon bustings and collisions. The Jasta 11 attack on a formation of Handley Page 0/400 bombers is spectacular. If you can get through the romance and distortion of real events and you like biplane dogfights I recommend this movie.

I preferred it to Fly Boys, but not as gritty as the old BBC series 'Wings'.

Anybody for The Blue Max or Aces High? !!!

Did you ever see the Great Waldo Pepper? It's about pilots barnstorming after WWI. Great, great movie.

A beautifully filmed movie with some of the best flying sequences ever. Loved the Jennys. -- Al

Good shout Brad - real aerial stunts and flying sequences, no computer generated sequences! Great ending as both aeroplanes fly off in to the distant yonder.

Yes for the Blue Max. What region code and lanuage is the Red Baron DVD? I don't think it is avaible for the US. FWIW, the romance is fine with me.;)

Try Amazon U.S?

I know some US based friends have downloaded from Torrent (.....if thats your cup of tea sort of thing).

I have kept my eye out for it at Amazon; they only have the poster but Australia is getting the dvd and blu-ray in December. I don't know anything about Torrent which I assume is some Napster copycat.

You're right doesn't appear to feature for the U.S. market, which is a pity because it's a good movie to watch on a cold night.

Can you get PAL DVD players in the USA? In the UK we can get dual PAL and NTSC players.

When Andy and Helen of K&C visited Australia in July we saw a special segment of WWI aerial combat that Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame had done for the War Memorial in Canbera. It was better than anything we had seen in a movie and one can only conclude Jackson is planning something WWI or could it be that he was practicing with the technology for The Dambusters ?
Will look out for the Red Baron. Still trying to find Khartoum !

Brett

I've seen "The Red Baron" in JB HI-FI here in Sydney for AU$24.95. I'm waiting for the price to drop. :D

I have a copy and I'm pretty sure I've seen it in Big W, Kmart or one of those stores just recently for about 8 or 9 dollars. Do you want me to grab you a copy if I come across one again?

Cheers Pete
