Very nice Randy, I really like Downton Abbey, have you guys had the 2nd season over there yet? Its even better then the 1st as it shows the life at the Abbey through the Great War Years! Maybe you could do a follow up to this pic with the Premier models in your collection?

Craig

Great picture , I am really enjoying the series (season 2 ) on PBS.

Regards
Kirk

Thanks Craig

We are on episode 4 of season 2 --we are really hooked on it. Here in the U.S. however, PBS has shortened each episode so we'll be getting the DVDS this month which are unedited.
I got the CD and book for Christmas. I wish we could get WB to do a DA glossy series including WWI figures What do you think?

Here is a favorite photo still from the show--now that would be a splendid Petticoat figure:)

A glossy series of that era would be great! Any range that would get us more glossy WW1 figures would be lol & yes that photo would make a excellent figure, its about time we got a few more Pettycoats!

Craig

Agreed Craig - some figures like that would be nice. The series IS enormously successful - attracting over 11 million vewers in the UK - and now being shown in over 100 countries around the World (which includes "La Commandante" - who is an avid fan!). Perhaps some of the fans don't realise that the place, in reality, is Highclere Castle - and is open to the public - in season. (from Easter and through the summer). It is also the home of The Earl and Countess of Caernarfon, and is near Newbury - close to the M4 - set in 1,000 acres of beautiful woodland parkland.

It probably looks similar to this, right now - just beautiful. jb

WW1 hospital at Parc Wern (now Parc Beck), Swansea

"During the Great War many stately houses were taken over as hospitals for injured soldiers (as the TV series Downton Abbey has shown), although it has to be said that the guys here look fit as a fiddle! (see comments - it has been suggested that they are probably medical staff)"

Hi Randy thanks for posting all these great photos love the one with the cast using there mobiles while still in period dress!!! I did actually know it was filmed at Highclere Castle as we have visited it a couple of times over the years before it was made famous by the show my Dad hopes to do another trip sometime this year.
