Today I received the second figure in the 7 Years War Prussians line, LEUT-02.
Here are some pics of him, along with 2 x LEUT-01.
At some point it was said that the 7 Years War line will get officially announced in June 2012.
Wonder if we get to hear anything from John, or through his dealers.
It would be nice to get an idea about what number of pieces to expect within this "Battle of Leuthen" section and if scenics like the church ruin are planned too?

Konrad-
John said it would be about the same size as snowshoes. However, I think sales are a factor in how much gets produced. For example, it seems like 1812 wasn't a popular line and the number of new figures has dropped off. A dealer told me there are buildings in the works for SYW.

Thanks, Combat,
a size like the the Snowshoe series sounds good to me and seems very appropriate for this scene here to be depicted.

Hi, Konrad! The grenadiers make an impressive start to the series, thanks for showing yours.

Prost!

Konrad,

I was in touch with John last month and asked him these exact questions to which he replied:

I took a trip to Germany last summer, and met up with a few excellent painters and historians.
I had a great time especially with the research, and even managed to visit a few museums and see some period uniforms and equipment.
For me I really enjoy learning more about the period I am working on.
The Seven Years War is a huge project... almost as large a "Black Hole" as the Napoleonic period!
So it took me a while to work out how to get started and to get collectors interested in the period.
I decided that a small series based on the Leuthen painting, would be a great starting point.
There are in fact 17 Prussian Grenadier figures already sculpted (based on the painting), and at this time 6, Austrian figures which were defending the graveyard at the time of the assault.

And I think I remember someone else commenting that a bigger release will be done someting soon, in Europe, so maybe in Germany with John's dealers there?

I'm sure we will all be very happy with this range of figures and my 2nd grenadier is now in transit, with the 3rd on order :).

Hi John,
thank you very much for your input here.
Sounds like a great plan to me.
Whatever John Jenkins decides to do with the Seven Years War, this plan to cover this particular subject of the assault at the church in Leuthen sounds great to me :smile2:
It will be exciting to watch the new releases in the next coming months.
