This movie was included in a boxed set with 36 discs of war films and documentaries.

"A Marine stationed in the Philippines loses a hand in an accident and is discharged from the Corps. When the Japanese invade the Philippines, he is called back into service to rescue a general held by Filipino guerrillas behind Japanese lines. Attaching a steel prosthetic in place of his missing hand, he and his men set out on the mission, which turns out to be not quite what he was told it was."

The movie is proof that if you have a small budget you can still squeeze in a good number of extras, a room full of beautiful local ladies, fairly talented local actors and actresses, two trains, use of a US Navy vessel and film in extreme natural locations.

This was was first of George Montgomery's Philippine location movies including..

Samar (1962)

Guerillas in Pink Lace (1964)

Another Montgomery film worth a view is "War Kill" done in 1968. If memory serves, this also took place in the Philippines. GM did some good work. -- lancer

He's a hammy actor but his movies are fun and he's also a producer and director of some of them.
