The British Forces are celebrating the “Surrender of Montreal, 1760”
Today I am experimenting with my Britains “Classics” figures for a future display of the British Forces celebrating the “Surrender of Montreal, 1760”.
I got some additional troops today, the 15th Foot, so enough reason to set them up and see how they can be displayed at the end.
My plans are to show three Regiments, the 1st Foot Guards, the 15th Regt. of Foot and the 44th Grenadiers, all of them apparently present at this event. The display will be of a parade ground, probably somewhere in Montreal. The 1st Foot Guards are already at attention, while the 15th and the 44th are marching up to join the celebration.
The centerpiece of the diorama, in the middle between the 1st Foot Guards Drums and Fifes and the 1st Foot Guards Command Set, will be a flagpole displaying the “Union Jack” without any regimental signs.
Today I learned from Ken via Randy that that would be the appropriate color to display on a celebration like that.
The final base, after having the majority of figures available (44th Foot Grenadiers in April), will be a few inches larger to either side, so there will be convenient space to place some single figures (future releases). Of course it can be adjusted any time if necessary.
So here we go, the 15th Regt. coming up.
