As it was such a lovely day today, I walked from Kings Cross Station to the Show.

Considering I had made the trip especially to see the new resin prototypes of John's WOR figures -
I had to smile as I passed the"YORK" pub (resplendent with the White Rose pub sign) just a few minutes from the Design Centre. (A good omen I thought!)

YES! The figures were on display on the Grey Goose stand at last. (Were originally to have been there for the last December Show.)

Totally delighted with what I saw - awesome is an over used word I know - but they are!

Very hard to capture them on film but the detail is incredible and the poses and facial expressions excellent - I know everyone
is saying it but - I can't wait to see them painted!

Old Bill,

"Outstanding" photography !

Your pictures of the figures are great !
Sometimes difficult to do at a show.

It looks like my bank balance will suffer when these come out.

Loved your picture of the "York" pub with the "White Rose"...when I was young the only way I could remember the "Rose" colour was that "Lancaster" ended in "R"...therefore the "R"ed Rose.

After seeing this, I wished I was at the "York" pub to buy you a Guinness or something in appreciation for posting this.

Thank you so much !

And thank you Ivanhoe. You are most welcome, I'm glad you liked the pics!

I have to admit it was quite difficult for me to get reasonable shots, I'm just a point and shoot merchant! (I took an awful lot more that were not very good at all.......)

Cheers!

Great photos of what's becoming a great series. - Thanks for posting.
Were there any other proto types on hand.........Sudan or Jacobite Rebellion ?

Hello Bill, I have followed your contributions on the forum for a while and have enjoyed them.Your love for the series WOR could not be bettered and who would blame you.The series has gone beyond my expectations and iam sorry not to be into it.Unfortunately iam over commited in other series but the look of those new figures could tempt me to buy a couple.Sounds like you had a good day at the toy soldier show and if i had been there , we might have stopped at that pub on the way home.Cheers Greg.

Roy,

thanks for the close up imagery of these new knights, there are SO good aren't they ???

I was lucky enough to receive a couple of resin master foot figures last week from John, when my Golden Ticket prize arrived.

John wanted to see how I can paint them, and so I hope to get underway on them in a couple of weeks time. I wasn't sure on who I'd paint, so he has kindly sent me an image of john de Vere, Earl of Oxford painted :) He is the figures standing with a raised left hand.

The other is a standard bearer, and on reading about the battle I see that the Stanley family were the forces to tip the balance to Henry so I am planning on painting the standard bearer as one of them.

Reason is that my wife was a Stanley, her father emigrated from Yorkshire just after WW2 to Australia, following his capture at rearguard defence of Calais and spent the rest of the war as a POW, and was a dairy farmer. We visit her cousins in Yorkshire on our holidays in UK and so it will be most fitting to show off the Stanley colours on one of the figures.

Great series and I'm told that John really enjoys sculpting the armor and poses of this period.
Some artillery is a real possibility and hopefully some mercenary pikemen.
John is becoming the "Michelangelo" of toy soldiers!

I do not know much about the conflict, but do collect the FL Agincourt range. It is amazing to to see the change in armor and fashion between 1415 and the 1460s.

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your kind words!

I did indeed have a good day at the LTSS. Some good company, the new resins to view and (unexpectedly) I bought home the two new WOR Yorkist Archers. (please see pic.)

If ever you do happen to make it over to "Old Blighty" for the LTSS, we'll have to go for that drink -Cheers!

Roy
