It has been announced that The X-Files is returning to Fox for 6 episode "Event"series.As this was my favorite show for a long time this is very good news to me.I just hope they make something better than the last movie which was lousy.Filming is suppose to start this summer.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Particularly since they are bringing back the same characters. The show felt like it had run its course. I'm glad they are limiting it to six episodes and not trying to stretch it out to a full season. That should help to keep the quality up. I can see the first episode getting a lot of buzz but interest falling off real quick.

I have the same misgivings. Are Duchovny and Anderson reprising their roles? Is their age an issue? It's been what, 10 years, since the series ended? I agree that the show was pretty much done back then, and I really suspect that Fox is cashing in on fan nostalgia. I'm skeptical that we'll have a really well-done story that syncs with the original series.

I feel the same way about discussions of "Firefly", and fans who want to see a new series. In both cases, I just prefer to enjoy the original stories, with their beginnings, middles, and ends, than to have "restarts" or updated versions, just for the sake of having them.

You guys might be right but I had the same misgivings about Battlestar Galactia and boy I was wrong on that one.Of course it had different actors and reimagined as they say.I have to say it all depends on how enthused the 2 actors will be and of course how good the episodes are written,They still have a big fan base,bigger than you might think.
