Deep below the palace of King Minos of Crete lay the labyrinth where the Minotaur awoke with hunger the sound of someone's laboured breathing growing louder and the smell of fresh prey getting stronger in his lair.
The moment the Minotaur saw Theseus emerging from one of the many tunnels paying out the last of his ball of string given to him by his love Ariadne to allow him to find his way back charged and was upon Theseus in a moment.
A fierce combat ensued between the Minotaur and Theseus. Theseus was starting to tire when finally finding the weak point in the Minotaur's defence.
As the Minotaur lay thrashing in its death throes Theseus cut off its head and wrapped it him his clock and finding Ariadne string made his way back to the surface.

I like the underground setting you have created Steve. The lighting effect really sets it off. A interesting idea that has been well created. Regards Greg.

Thanks Greg, finding a suitable backdrop meant searching the internet and setting up the tunnel involved balancing a heavy stone above the combatants. I think it turned out quite well !{sm3} I could of done better with the skull and severed head, but those I was attempting to sculpt (a first attempt) for a forthcoming SPQR scene.

Mike, I loved finding out for myself the myths and Legends of ancient Greece in junior school, it vied with my attentions with ancient Rome !
Both still vie for my attentions along with so many other periods of history, FIW Napoleonic, Zulu, Egypt to mention a few and then I have to contend with that work thing as well !
