Hi, I had a look at a 'Death of Ponsonby' last night and it's got me tossing up whether I start on this line. I haven't collected many Britains before (a few Zulus) so I'm wondering what their Napoleonic cavalry look like in action. Does anyone have a few photos handy to post? Or a link to a suitable thread? (I had a quick look)

I don't really have any photos of mine to post as I don't have a good base yet to display them on, but let me assure you that they are probably just about my favorite figures. The 1st Royal Dragoons and the French Lancers are TOP notch and well worth picking up. The older posting about the Texas Soldier show has some pretty decent pictures of most of the recent Naps Calvary figures and displays them pretty nicely. If you like the Napoleonic era and are a fan of well made cavalry then these are certainly for you. I love mine and cannot wait till I'm able to assemble a full spread battle! Best of luck to you on your decision.

Check my PM- I will post picks in a few, hopefully before I head down to West Point.

I second those comments. I love the realistic reins and metal swords.
I have all the first release Dragoons (thanks to my brilliant wife:cool:) with the exception of one which I will be buying soon. I will be buying the taking of the eagle, Death of Ponsonby and the Magpie limited set. I can't get enough of them.^&grin
I also bought some French lancers which I wasn't going to buy until the Dragoons were released. They are also first class.
My daughter bought the Scots Greys guidon bearer with the Gordons infantry figure for me for Christmas so I'm going to buy some more Scots Greys as well.
So much to buy.
I recommend Britain's cavalry.
Regards
Paul

Photo for you. I have them all, some duplicates, but only a few shown in the photo. They are very nice and I would not wait too long if you are interested.

Hey fellas - your advice must be good because I stood next to Larso at the shop today when he started buying them.

He even had to borrow some cash from me, so you'll excuse me if I don't thank you!{sm4}

And if they came to stay at your place as the rest I hope you charged him rent as well........{sm4}{sm3}

Ponsonby set is well worth it mate! Looks amazing, never fancied those french lancers but I got one with that set and it is spectacular! Beautifully painted and the pose is so realistic!:wink2:

I bought the wounded lancer first; for a loser, it was a winner - nice realistic pose, good horse, well appointed horse furniture and double reins, and well priced for its position in the market. Go for it.^&cool

As Jack says, I am in. It's great to have a shop to go to, I set Ponsonby alongside a few of the K&C ones I already have and was totally pleased with how they look. A few of the line are sold out but I only need a couple of each to represent these regiments and I will still be able to get the poses I need. Thanks for your input fellas! And yes Wayne, I have noticed that Jack's set-ups seem to be more numerous than they used to be....

Larso...Larso...where have I heard that name before? Are you the same Larso who just got smashed on Amazon because of an apparently flawed book review? Ouch...that must have hurt...or so I assume. My PhD came back without corrections, but I assume the experience of having your writing so heavily criticised must be an unpleasant one. I wonder if it is as hurtful as posting a picture of a diorama and having all of your friends mock it as a derivative piece of uncertain authorship.

You all know who you are!

Well it was not my writing that got criticised but my opinion that the author had proved his argument. Why are you posting here when you could be using your PhD brain to help me write a cutting reply? That said, I've improved on my first draft and I'm looking forward to putting the idiot concerned in his place. Hmmmm words...
