Hi all,

This has probably been asked before, so forgive me in advance.

Are Thomas Gunn figures compatible with John Jenkins figures scale size?

Anyone have pictures to post to compare?

Wanted to use the Thomas Gunn MG08 anti-aircraft machine gun with John Jenkins figures on an airfield display.

Thanks.

Mark

I don't have any pics handy...I do own lots of each...but yes...they are very compatible...in height/girth and painting style...both very nice figures...

1st Rifle Brigade, personally, I think the Thomas Gunn figures are a slight bit bigger than the John Jenkins figures, at least the older TGM figures. These aren’t the best pictures - they’re what I have on my phone - but you can see the size difference in my JJD WWI German A7V tank diorama. The tank and crew figures are from JJD whereas the infantry figures are TGM.

However, as MikeMiller said, the paint work and quality are very similar and the size difference isn’t that extreme. I feel they definitely display well together.

I agree completely with Tristan’s comments. In particular, I find that my older TC pilot figs are actually a better match for KC. But, here’s the deal, ;) I think that some of KC’s figs have gotten smaller and better proportioned, over time, as well! Because of ALL these little caveats, I honestly think that collectors are better off comparing everything on a fig-to-fig basis. This is all just my way of saying that, IMO, there’s no iron-clad adherence to 1/30 for ANY of these manufacturers over the years and between their own ranges.
