Andy’s two Napoleonic Artillery models have both been of horse artillery units. I suppose he choose these because of their fancy uniforms. Fancy uniforms must mean more sales. I would much rather see a line artillery gun crew in the middle of serving their cannon during the battle. Some gunner would have their coats and shako’s off. Action poses could be as follows:

  • Ramming home the charge
  • Kneeling down to pickup the ball
  • Leaning over the barrel aiming the cannon
  • Two
gunners, one on each side pushing the wheels forward to realign the cannon after firing.
  • Gunner covering his ears
  • Etc. etc.

Having seen the new WWII BOB figures, I know K & C can make action poses. Another positive thing about modeling the line artillery is that because their uniforms are simpler it will be much quicker and less expensive to paint.

Second suggestion:
Add on Figures:

K & C usually sell separately an officer figure to compliment the gun crew. While it nice I would rather have one or more additional crew members. So when I buy two cannons and place them beside each other have this one different figure will make it look like they are two total different gun crews.

My third and last suggestion:

Sell the cannons separately, as well as packaged with the crew.

Thank you.

I like your ideas about the artillary sets and also wanted to see a set of the cannon being rolled back into firing postion. We think a lot alike on this subject as I also wanted to see some add on artillary crew members.

After a cannon was fired it took up to 8 to 12 men to repostion a cannon after the recoil depending on the size of the cannon (smaller cannons took less)and the ground it was on and many times regular infantry men would help to repostion a cannon so the 3 man crew is a bit off.:p

How about a few dead and wounded artillary crew men with a battle damaged caisson and some dead horses???

Also the new grenadiers that andys coming out with need some french men running for their lives from the scotts greys because when your being over run by cavalry you either PLAY DEAD (not to good an idea as the horses running over you tend to hurt a bit) RUN or BE KILLED and most choose the RUN AWAY approach!!!:p

I think the new grenadiers look real good but like some one else said the british artillary poses could use a little action in there poses.

How about a set of captain mercers crew at waterloo where one of the crew triped in the mud and put his arms out in front of the cannon and got his arms blown off when he put them forward infront of the barral to try and break his fall? O.K. maybe a little to munch action!!!:p
