I would like to thank this forum for letting me know about two great places in France:

1. Les Drapeaux de France

2. Musée de l'Empéri which is in Salon-en-Provence

1. after visiting this toy soldier shop "Les Drapeaux de France," near Lourve, I realized how much more better the K&C figures are when compared to the crap being sold in Les Drapeaux de France. The sales woman in the shop was very snobby when I asked about the price in the shop. Most of them were Andrea figures being hand-painted (probably by Eastern Europeans) and the prices were ridiculous! The Mignot figures are different variety and considered classic for some collectors and it's good to see.

I just think the way Les Drapeaux de France sells toy soldiers is obsolete with terrible customer's service and no respect for Asian collectors. I don't think this shop will survive too long with excellent figures made and painted in CHINA. They seemed to have no idea what's happening in the new world.

2. The Musée de l'Empéri is excellent! I wonder if Andy has ever traveled there. They have much more on display than the Invalides in Paris! Highly recommended!

Hi,
I don't seem to have "met" you before on the forum, but "Hi" anyways. I too "just" (3-4 months ago) got back from France, and LOVED Emperi. It is just {eek3}{eek3}{eek3}{eek3}. The flags, the uniforms th......... I agree about the "snobby" factor in some mainland shops. It seems a 16 year old can't enjoy art, hobbies, or antiques without being suspected of being a thief. But I have not been to that shop, though I do like Mignot.
Vive l'Empereur

These are exactly my imrpessions of the shop after a visit in 2008.

I went to 3 other shops who were all quite friendly,

Solda'Telis is a little toy soldier shop in Paris, just near the Arc de Triumph

Toysoldiers Paris who sell K&C

and Au Plat d Etain on the left bank for Tradition and Mignot.
