I've heard from many collectors that this sieres has not done well or not a popular one. Why is that? I know it's been sometime since we've seen a release, except for Major Campbell. I hope we'll see more in the future.

good evening, in my personal opinion the figures were not so nice ( faces like masks, a bit unpleasant ). Being fond in the historical period I've thought several times if buying or not, but never convinced to do. Having the need of some Scots I decided to buy the team of Fraser highlander, only six but ( i think ) nicer and enough for my purposes.

Possibly some command groups and casualties for British but not much more.....

My only complaint with Ticonderoga is that more French figures have not been made for this series. Montcalm was a one-man army until I broke down and transferred some of the POA French over to the task. It has been a slow series to develop, but I don't have any complaints about the figures. In fact, I really like the Scottish highlanders. John seems to have ventured more in the direction of WWI which may have slowed things down here. Maybe a smaller battle along lines of his snowshoes series might be more suitable to fewer releases. Something like Bushy Run, but I'm hopeful more is in the works for Ticonderoga.

I've also heard that the TIC series or range is not as popular as other JJD ranges, and wondered why. I think the TIC sculpting is excellent and certainly as good as any other JJD creation; and the painting for that range is also excellent (more effort and cost to do tartan too!). It may have been the cost of some of the TIC sets; e.g.,~$77 for some of the two-figure sets, at a time when most other JJD two-figure sets were going for $58 - $66. Adding highlanders to any FIW diorama really does add more aesthetic appeal in my opinion, not to mention that the highlanders were involved in a lot of campaigns and battles during FIW and Pontiac's Rebellion, so a large potential for diorama diversity (e.g., Ft. Carillon or Ticonderoga, Signal Hill in Newfoundland, and Bushy Run for 42nd Highlanders; maybe even Grant's raid on Ft. Duquesne if you want to pretend the JJD Highlanders (42nd) are 77th Highlanders). Also, JJD now sells the French Bearn Regiment sets that fits in well, historically, with the 42nd Highlander charge at Fort Carillon (a.k.a. Ticonderoga). Please see below for a few photos of my 1758 Ticonderoga diorama wherein I mix JJD with Frontline and W. Britain figures.

I agree, the TIC range definitely needs highlander casualties -- at least a couple different two-figure sets as was produced for the BoM range.

time ago John told me about some Highlanders climbing the trench, I said that they would be very helpful but then nothing was released.
